Montague L. Meyer, a name that had long been familiar in the timber trade, was re-introduced following the management buyout in 1998. The original Company (then Ltd) was incorporated over 90 years ago and became a highly respected name for customers and suppliers. Montague L Meyer (now a wholly owned trading brand of MLM Distribution Ltd) focuses upon its core range of wood-based panel products. MLM Distribution Ltd is completely independent and, while upholding the reputation of the past, is forging ahead into the new century.

Operating from eight locations around the UK, Montague L. Meyer offers an extensive range of structural, non-structural and decorative panel products from a comprehensive and nationwide inventory. The strategic location of stock and delivery facilities provides customers with the ultimate choice of any quantity from bulk, ex-quay or ex-factory deliveries or just-in-time supply of smaller quantities. Service arrangements now mean that the majority of depot stock can be delivered in 48 hours, or if necessary, next day.

Most of our imported wood panels arrive in the UK through our sizeable Central Distribution Warehouse at Tilbury dock, from where nationwide distribution takes place. Furthermore, our excellent relations with mills throughout Europe allow distribution direct to the market without additional handling.

The Barking site has a dual role, not only as a major trading office in London and the South-East but also as MLM Distribution Ltd's registered office. The efficiency of distribution at Barking has been much enhanced by moving the stock operation to Tilbury dock, in a location adjacent to the Central Distribution Warehouse, much closer to the motorway network and nearer to the middle of the depot's trading area. The sales office has, however, remained at Barking and can be contacted in the usual way.

The Company is committed to developing new markets and new products in its sector. Flame retardant panels, laminates and worktops, laminated and veneered MDF and a range of flexible panels all appear in an ever growing portfolio of innovative products that stand close environmental scrutiny. We are one of the few distributors in the UK with a licence, under the Construction Products Directive, to apply our own CE mark to Flame Retardant processed plywood and hardboard, performance classified to the new Euroclasses B & C to BS EN 13501-1.

Montague L. Meyer operates to a Business Management System accredited to ISO 9001:2000. We also enjoy Environmental Chain of Custody certification to both the FSC (No. TT-COC-1670) and PEFC (No. BMT-PEFC-0057) rules.
